FAQs
“Can we mix and match and/or add on to existing packages?”
While we try to be as flexible as possible, in most cases we have to adhere to the add-ons listed on the rates page…(see link). We feel that these will allow your party to
“Why can’t I pre-book ‘Two-Alarm’ or Non-Profit functions on premium weekend dates?”
These dates (premium dates listed) are reserved for larger “3 alarm” or “Five-Alarm” Functions. However, If there are 14 days or less until the date and there is still availability, we will book a smaller function. This is based on a first-come-first-serve basis.
The calendar on the website should only allow events smaller than 5 alarm to be forwarded to me 14 days or less in advance. This is only so that I don’t have to keep track of a waiting list.
“What happens to the photos from the “photo booth?”
The digital images captured in the photo booth while wearing the fire gear, are usually played as a slideshow at the end of the event once everyone has had a chance to sit for a photo. A copy of all the photos is given to the host of the party on a computer flash drive”. (extra , copies can be made for a small charge)
“Why can I have only certain specialty pizzas for my 3-Alarm party?”
To keep cost down for the 2-Alarm and 3-Alarm events, our pizzas are prepped at our shop and finished off in the stone oven on the truck. Because we have high standards for our finished product, we only offer the best assortment of pizzas for this method.
“What are terms for school or non-profit events?”
All rates can be found at (link). We generally only work with local schools…Mystic, Groton, Stonington, North Stonington, Ledyard, Pawcatuck, and Westerly. We charge retail price for the pizzas along with $100.00 an hour for time and labor. Other public or non profit events should be discussed with us via email or phone as they involve schedule and volume.
“What is the largest party you can handle?”
A 2-Alarm or 3-Alarm, without having time constraints, could essentially have any number of attendees. For 5-Alarm parties done in 4 hours, 150 people is about the maximum the truck can handle due to production.
“Where did the fire truck come from?”
The fire truck is a 1983 Pierce Arrow pumper. Its former home was the Noank CT Volunteer Fire Department, formerly known as G42. It was retired and after 25 plus years in service. When Pizzetta’s owner, Christopher Owens, saw it for sale in the summer of 2008 the wheels in his head started spinning. The rest is history…
“Will the truck fit at my event?”
Generally is a moving truck and/or oil delivery truck can access the location, then the fire truck can as well. It is 8 feet by 29 feet and weighs 26,000. Feel free to contact us if there is a doubt.
“What happens if there is inclement weather?”
We can cook in slightly inclement weather, but if 24 hours prior to your event, the forecast is looking poor, you have option to cancel and reschedule (see contract for details).
